My husband and I raised 4 children who all attended Sumner County Schools and graduated HHS. I put in a lot of hours volunteering in classrooms, serving on PTO boards, and managing a lot of extracurricular activities!
Why I'm Running

My grandchildren will soon walk the same hallways of District 1 schools as my children did. I want to make the schools the best they can be for them . . . for all students.
This isn't politics for me - it's personal!

I was born in Florida and later moved to Sparta, Illinois. I graduated from Sparta High School and later from the University of Alabama - ROLL TIDE! I majored in Broadcast Journalism, and minored in Speech & English.

My top priority is student safety. That means strong support for School Resource Officers, effective safety protocols, better approaches to addressing bullying, and safe, efficient school facilities.

I also believe strongly in back-to-basics academics—prioritizing phonics-based reading instruction and rigorous math standards that prepare students for the real world. Our focus should remain on strong academic achievement.
